#LetsBaRock: famous countertenor, baroque opera star J. J. ORLIŃSKI & the band

The world-renowned countertenor JAKUB JÓZEF ORLIŃSKI will perform in Vilnius – the concert dubbed a musical sensation #LetsBaRock will be an amazing mix of baroque and contemporary music, jazz, pop/rock, performed by J. J. Orliński along with pianist Aleksander Dębicz and the band. Shining in the world's most famous opera houses, one of today's brightest stars, countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński will perform in Lithuania for the first time. On September 23, this exclusive concert #LetsBaRock is being held at the splendid LVSO Concert Hall in Vilnius.

J. J. Orliński, titled as an "Angel's voice" by The Sunday Times, one of the most beloved and famous opera stars of this decade, brings "mesmerizing" live performances (according to "The Guardian") that sell out completely in prestigious concert halls. The singer has performed at London's Royal Albert Hall and Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Royal Opera of Versailles, Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, the Edinburgh Festival, and more. The countertenor has established himself as one of the most prominent artists in the world, continually triumphing both on stage and in recordings. He is referred to as 'the first opera superstar to conquer Gen Z' (Telegraph Luxury magazine), has crowds of fans worldwide, and hundreds of thousands of followers on social media platforms. Alongside his musical work, Orliński has experience as a model and influencer – he has collaborated with globally renowned names such as Netflix, Louis Vuitton, Levi's, Nike, BMW, Lacoste, and others. Another unexpected fact of this artist is that Orliński is also a breakdancer and has won awards in various competitions in this field.

In Vilnius, Orliński will perform with Aleksander Dębić, one of the most versatile Polish pianists and composers, highly regarded for his improvisations and original music, often combined with works by the old masters of classical music. For example, in Dębić's album 'Invention' (Warner Classics, 2018) there are his interpretations of J. S. Bach's inventions and original compositions inspired by Bach and hip-hop. The goal of the Orliński and Dębić duet is to present Baroque music attractively to modern audiences while preserving its beauty. Their latest project #LetsBaRock features works by Baroque composers Georg Friedrich Händel, Antonio Vivaldi, Henry Purcell, Claudio Monteverdi, and Francesco Nicola Fago, arranged by Dębić along with some of his own works. About #LetsBaRock the artists shared: "We created something like the covers of baroque songs and arias. In our version, baroque pieces sound undeniably modern, yet they maintain their character, although we have changed some of the accents. For example, the piece "Oblivion" based on Monteverdi's aria "Oblivion soave," remains a sort of lullaby – but in our version, it resembles a dreamy trance-style piece," the creators shared.
