Sting announces June 2024 show at Tartu Song Festival Grounds

The Cherrytree Music Company and Live Nation announce that the legendary 17-time Grammy Award-winning artist, Sting, will be gracing the stage with a special "My Songs" concert at the Tartu Song Festival Grounds on June 10th, 2024. This marks the continuation of his world-spanning tour, which has captivated audiences across the US, Europe, Asia, the UAE and Australia. Concert is a part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main programme.

Composer, singer-songwriter, actor, author, and activist Sting was born in Newcastle, England and he made his mark when he co-founded The Police with Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers in 1977. The band released five studio albums, secured six Grammy, and two Brit awards, earning them a place in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. Secret to his longevity is simple, Sting himself said in an interview this May. “I'm curious! I'm curious about music itself. I'm still a student of music. I still practice every day, I still study,” he noted. “That's the wonderful mystery of it – the enigma of music – but also I'm willing to learn. So if that's why I'm still hanging on by my fingernails, then it's a good reason.”

Sting is also one of the world's most distinctive solo artists and has garnered an impressive 11 Grammys, two Brits, a Golden Globe, an Emmy, four Oscar nominations, a Tony nomination, and has sold a staggering 100 million albums combined with The Police and his solo work. In addition he has made numerous performances in films and authored two books, including The New York Times bestseller “Broken Music”.

Sting's unwavering support for human rights organizations such as Amnesty International and Live Aid mirrors his art in its universal outreach. Alongside his wife, Trudie Styler, Sting founded the Rainforest Fund in 1989 to protect the world's rainforests and the indigenous people living within them. Together, they have organized 19 benefit concerts to raise funds and awareness for our planet's endangered resources. Since its inception, the Rainforest Fund has expanded to a network of interconnected organizations working in more than 20 countries across three continents.

In 2019, Sting released an album entitled "My Songs," featuring contemporary interpretations of his most celebrated hits, followed by a world tour and an acclaimed Las Vegas residency of the same name. Sting's latest album, "The Bridge," showcases his prolific and diverse songwriting prowess, representing various stages and styles from throughout his unrivaled career.

Sting's "My Songs" concert is a jubilant and dynamic showcase of his most cherished hits, spanning his illustrious career as both a member of The Police and as a solo artist. Following an overwhelmingly successful six-night residency at the prestigious London Palladium, "My Songs" was hailed as a "masterclass" by The Times, with critics noting that "Sting remains an undeniably skilled performer with a gold-plated back catalogue."

The concert delves into his timeless hits, including classics such as "Fields of Gold," "Roxanne," "Every Breath You Take," "Message in a Bottle," and a myriad of other iconic songs. The Telegraph described it as a "rare treat," and Sting himself was lauded as "near peerless" by The Guardian for his "sublime pop alchemy."

During this tour, Sting will be joined by an electrifying rock ensemble, promising an unforgettable night of music and entertainment.

Sting will perform his special “My Songs” concert in Tartu Song Festival Grounds on June 10th 2024. Tickets go on sale for FBI Club and Positivus members on November 8th, public sale begins on November 10th 10AM at Piletilevi website and selling points.
