In the midst of summer, on July 21, Dave Stewart will perform for the first time in the Baltics at the Sigulda Castle with the legendary Eurythmics classic catalogue. It will be, without exaggeration, a unique opportunity to finally enjoy in a live concert the iconic Eurythmics hits that we know well and are in love from the 80s and 90s: Missionary Man, Thorn in My Side, Love Is a Stranger, Who's That Girl? There Must Be an Angel (Playing With My Heart), Here Comes the Rain Again, The Miracle of Love, I Saved the World Today, Would I Lie to You? Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves and of course Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).
For this project Dave Stewart has created a group that unites professional musicians and singers. Stewart has chosen the talented Australian singer-songwriter Vanessa Amorosi for the role of the main soloist, while he himself has limited to his usual guitar playing.

The multi-talented, instrumentalist, performer, composer and producer Dave Stewart, together with the no less gifted charismatic singer and musician Annie Lennox, formed the duo Eurythmics in the early 1980s, which over the course of 10 years of the main activity created a series of hits that have not lost their freshness even today and are at the same time considered iconic. At hat time the band was something of a UFO. With its androgynous looks, seductive synth-pop, thundering rhythms and steely vocals, Eurythmics revolutionized the dancefloor, selling over 100 million albums worldwide. The chemistry between the two artists, who began as lovers, is complete. Lennox is an impressively charismatic narrator, while Stewart transforms chords into experiences and melodies into raw emotion.
It is noteworthy that even after each of these creative personalities went their separate ways, they continued to attract our recognition with both new high-quality material and performances. Dave Stewart is especially prolific, having developed a successful career of musician and producer outside of Eurythmics, collaborating with such greats as Mick Jagger, Ringo Starr, Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Bob Geldof, Jon Bon Jovi, Bryan Ferry, Candy Dulfer, the groups “Shakespears Sister”, “No Doubt”, etc., etc.
Although the last Eurythmics tour ended in 1999, many fans keep asking about new material and a possible concerts. Aside from a few special reunions (the last of which was on November 5, 2022, when 3 songs were performed to celebrate Eurythmics' induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame), Annie and Dave have not performed a single major concert in this century.
“Uh, no,” Stewart says when asked whether the Eurythmics would ever tour again. “I would. But, you see, Annie has stopped touring and has said many times she doesn’t want to tour, doesn’t like touring.”
"Choosing a band made up of exceptional women is my way of paying tribute to my great friend and collaborator Annie Lennox," comments Stewart. Thus, those wanting to hear the band’s classic tunes played in concert should consider catching Stewart’s Eurythmics feat. Vanessa Amorosi tour, which sounds like a pretty good option given the rave reviews.
