Canadian star guitarist Rémi Boucher and composer Peeter Vähi will celebrate 30 years of musical friendship and creative collaboration with a joint concert. In addition to the above-mentioned, excellent guest performers Heili Rosin-Leivategija (flute) and Marie-Helen Aavakivi (violin) will be on stage. You can also see and hear much more exotic instruments. The music of Rodrigo, Vähi, Boucher and Lecuona will be performed. Among other things, the programme also includes the absolute hit of guitar music Concerto de Aranjuez and the esoteric work by Peeter Vähi Mystical Uniting that gave the concert its name.

Rémi Boucher is one of the top guitarists in the world today, having won numerous grand prix and first prizes at many international competitions. He is a renowned instrument teacher and professor, who is characterised by brilliant playing technique and a versatile sense of style. In addition to numerous national and international awards, Rémi Boucher has conquered Europe, America and Asia in less than 18 months, unanimously winning first prize at the five most important international music competitions (Alessandria in Italy, Andrès Segovia in Palma de Mallorca in Spain, Havana in Cuba, Mauro Guiliani in Turin and Fernando Sor in Rome).

Marie-Helen Aavakivi obtained her master’s degree cum laude in violin at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2012 under the supervision of Alexander Fischer and defended her doctoral degree in 2019. As a soloist and chamber musician, Aavakivi has participated in the cultural programmes of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, the Shanghai EXPO Europe Day events, and has taught violin master classes at Shenandoah University in the USA.
