The sensational exhibition about the street art superstar Banksy - now in Riga!
The world-famous and yet still enigmatic Banksy was born in Bristol. This anonymous graffiti artist and painter has, for over two decades, challenged the boundaries between art, politics, and public space - creating works that are at once satirical commentaries and icons of cultural history. His interventions have repeatedly become the epicenter of public debate, controversy, and media attention.
The exhibition “The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind” brings together all the defining elements of the elusive artist’s visual language and offers a glimpse into his most symbolic, witty, and iconic creations. It is a retrospective interpretation comprising more than 150 works - ranging from graffiti, photographs, and sculptures to video installations and prints on various materials, including canvas, textiles, aluminum, and acrylic glass. All works have been meticulously reproduced especially for this show, with respect to their original context and aesthetic.
“The Mystery of Banksy – A Genius Mind” is a tribute to one of the most iconic street artists of our time - a figure who has become a modern cultural myth, maintaining anonymity and resisting institutionalization. In keeping with Banksy’s often-quoted motto “Copyright is for losers ©TM,” this exhibition and the artworks presented have not been officially authorized by the artist and are staged independently of his knowledge or approval.
