Ice Show “The Wizard in the Land of Dreams”

On March 28 at 2:00 PM, the grand ice show for the whole family, “The Wizard in the Land of Dreams,” will take place at the Ogre Ice Arena, featuring outstanding and award-winning figure skaters from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. The production is created and organized by the team behind the ice show “Thumbelina,” which was successfully staged last year at Xiaomi Arena and in other European cities.

This warm and uplifting story, inspired by A. Volkov’s popular work The Wizard of the Emerald City, will be presented in a new light: Dorotie and her loyal dog Toto, the charming Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, mysterious fairies, and, of course, the enigmatic Wizard will come to life on the ice. Together with these characters, the audience will embark on a fantastic journey through the Land of Dreams — a place where dreams come true.

“The Wizard in the Land of Dreams” is a vibrant musical theater performance created by a large creative team from Latvia, including choreographers, artists, set designers, costume designers, composers, and lighting and special effects specialists. Every detail, from the stage design to the musical score, creates a magical atmosphere that will captivate both children and adults.

The ice show will feature 24 world-class figure skaters — participants in World and European Championships, winners and prizewinners of various international competitions — as well as acrobats, aerial performers, and other artists from Latvia and the Baltic states.

The performers will demonstrate the highest level of technical skill and artistic expression: the audience will see complex lifts, pirouettes, jumps, spectacular death spirals, and graceful synchronized duets. The arena will come alive not only on the ice — breathtaking aerial acrobatic acts beneath the dome will enhance the magical atmosphere of the event.

“The Wizard in the Land of Dreams” is a bright cultural event designed for audiences of all ages. The show is a perfect festive highlight of the season and an excellent choice for family entertainment.

Children under 3 years old may enter free of charge if they do not occupy a separate seat.

The project’s producer and one of its performers, Olga Raikovskaya/Jakushina (Latvia), is an International Master of Sport, a multiple Latvian champion in ice dancing, a winner and prizewinner of international competitions, and a participant in World and European Ice Dancing Championships.

The stage director, Aleksandrs Jakushins (Latvia), is an International Master of Sport, a prizewinner of international competitions, a participant in World and European Championships, and a performer in the international ice shows Disney on Ice and Kings on Ice.
