I wanted to place the audience right inside the rehearsal space, alongside us, so they could experience the film the way we experienced the process of rehearsing and creating the performance itself — through moments of uncertainty, doubt, and questions, never fully knowing where we were heading. It felt like drifting through fog in a small boat, with no shoreline yet in sight. Gradually, you begin to sense that land is there, to make out its contours, until suddenly — unexpectedly — the coastline appears on the horizon, and new shapes begin to emerge.” Juliette Binoche
