On 23 May 2026 at 18:00, a large exotic dance concert “DANCE RHYTHM POWER PASSION” will take place at Berģi cultural Centre, offering audiences vibrant and exhilarating dance performances by the Exotic Dance Centre “Alegria” and the Indian Culture Centre “Bharata”.

The first part of the concert highlights the art of Spanish flamenco dance, featuring both joyful and melancholic tones. The performances will include traditional flamenco accessories - fans, castanets, shawls, and hats - emphasizing the distinctive rhythm, character and power of this dance born in Spain.

The second part of the concert will showcase belly dance, Romani dance, and Indian classical dance performances. The Romani dance will bring the audience to the Balkans; belly dance will impress with its body plasticity, magnificent Isis wings, energetic saidi, and refined drum solos. Indian dances will convey the atmosphere of South Indian temples, mythological storytelling and the technical and rhythmic capabilities of the body.

Guests will enjoy the concert seated at tables. The ticket price includes vegetarian snacks, coffee, and water.

The concert will be hosted by Ilze Zariņa.

Dance Centre “Alegria” is the first dance studio to offer training in belly dance, flamenco, Indian classical dance, and Romani (Gypsy) dance to curious enthusiasts in Latvia. “Alegria” has trained many talented dancers and instructors in these styles. The dance studio is primarily attended by women, as noted by its artistic director Ilze Zariņa, who states that women more often are ready to take on the challenges presented by the movements and rhythms of other cultures. Dancing brings joy, improves health, opens new horizons, and broadens social circles.

The concert will feature dance groups and soloists from the Exotic Dance centre “Alegria” and the Indian Culture Centre “Bharata”.
