The screenplay is inspired by true events – a dark and enigmatic tale that unfolded nearly a century ago on the remote island of Floreana in the Galápagos archipelago.

 

Dr. Friedrich Ritter – a philosopher, physician, and uncompromising misanthrope – could not abide imitation. When creative exhaustion pushed him to borrow and quote the words of more successful thinkers, he saw only one path forward: to begin again.

 

Together with his determined companion Dora, he turns his back on the bourgeois world and sets out – away from a Europe drowning in economic crisis and political madness. Their destination: the uncharted island of Floreana, a small paradise where they plan to build a new Eden. A life without rules, without conventions. Only labor, meditation, desire – and a vow of radical honesty. But what is joy, if it cannot be shared?

 

Their romantic letters and idealistic dispatches attract other seekers: dreamers, outcasts, wanderers – each arriving with a heavy luggage of ghosts and unspoken traumas.
The fragile balance is shattered with the arrival of an eccentric baroness – imperious, mysterious, and dangerously alluring – flanked by two men devoted to her every whim.

 

The atmosphere thickens. Power games, hidden desires, and silent fears turn the island paradise into a simmering cauldron of passion. Sex, ambition, jealousy, obsession – all become weapons.
