Amon Amarth

One of the metal world’s most widely adored bands Amon Amarth for the first time will visit Latvia and perform in Palladium Riga on July 13th. They emerged in the early '90s with a sound that infused traditional Scandinavian death metal with Viking history and lore. They broke into the mainstream in 2008 with the release of their landmark seventh album “Twilight of the Thunder God” and last year released their 11th album “Berserker”. Tickets goes on sale February 10th in bilesuserviss.lv.

Today, Amon Amarth stand tall and unassailable: over 25 years into a career that has seen them evolve from humble origins in the dark, dank rehearsal rooms of their native Tumba to their current status as explosive festival headliners and one of the metal world’s most widely adored bands. Amon Amarth steadily built a formidable reputation as a ferocious live band and, as the years passed, were increasingly recognised for their recorded achievements.

Their debut album 'Once Sent from the Golden Hall' came out in 1998 and the band have since released several albums and toured internationally. 'Twilight of the Thunder God' (2008) went to number six on Billboard's Hard Rock Albums Chart and number 18 on the Top Rock Albums Chart. 'Surtur Rising' (2011) topped the Hard Rock Chart and reached number seven on the Top Rock Chart, 'Deceiver of the Gods' (2013) peaked at number four on the Hard Rock Chart, number five on the Top Rock Chart and 50 on the Billboard 200, and 'Jomsviking' (2016) went to number two on the Hard Rock Chart, number four on the Top Rock Chart and number 19 on the Billboard 200. A concert album titled 'The Pursuit of Vikings: 25 Years in the Eye of the Storm', was released in 2018.2019 saw the release of Amon Amarth's eleventh studio album, 'Berserker'. The album took the band in a different direction as they began to explore other elements of their signature Viking-inspired style and includes tracks 'Raven's Flight' and 'Crack the Sky'.

Their songs deliver tales of Viking folklore, wars, wolves, Norse gods and berserkers (elite Viking warriors who wore animal pelts, not armour) over a soundtrack of brutal but melodic and passionate death metal.
