Crossover music festival “Laivā” (On the Boat) will take place on the shores of the Latvian Eth-nographic Open-Air Museum and on Lake Jugla this summer, August 13. Enjoy the festival on the ground or in a boat!

The artists of the one-day festival this year will be the classical music hooligans DAGAMBA from Latvia, Latvian drum and bagpipe music group Auļi, hip-hop artist Ozols together with the Latvian Radio Big Band, guitarist Mārcis Auziņš and cellist Valters Pūce together with pianist Dainis Tenis.

DAGAMBA fuses musical genres to form a unique and powerful sound. At this festival, you will hear one of their most impressive concert program “Ludwig Van Rammstein” in collaboration with the Latvian Radio Big Band. Album #LudwigVanRammstein is inspired by German most popular music figures - Ludwig van Beethoven and Rammstein. The album has won a prize for the best instrumen-tal or crossover album of the year.

Auļi is a band of ten people who play music full of energy based on Latvian folk music and is known far beyond the borders of Latvia. Six bagpipers, three drummers, and a double bass player have delighted the audience with their music at the prestigious World Music Festival Rainforest in Ma-laysia, collaborated and filmed videos with a throat singer on the Mongolian lands, a Sami joiker in the Norwegian snow, and a yodel master in the Austrian Alps.

Hip-hop artist Ozols started collaborating with the Latvian Radio Big Band this year and it looks like it will not end so soon, because the extraordinary combination works amazingly well, playing hip-hop songs from his albums in fresh arrangements created by pianist Ritvars Garoza.

Guitarist Mārcis Auziņš is one of Latvia's most colorful instrumentalists, who finds inspiration in his musical interpretation from various sources. He has collaborated with many well-known Latvian stage artists, including Linda Leen, Jānis Lūsēns, Intars Busulis, Aija Vītoliņa, Daumants Kalniņš, Dons, and Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.

Valters Pūce and Dainis Tenis have created a program ‘Radīts Latvijā' that has already been successfully performed in concerts. This program includes melodies of the greatest Latvian composers in the instrumental versions for cello and piano.

There will also be dining areas, a lakeside bar, a floating bar, and leisure, interactive, and entertainment venues in the festival area.
