For nearly twenty years, Röyksopp has played a significant role in shaping an elegant blend of downtempo, electronica, house, and various other genres. The group was founded in the late ’90s by Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland. They are considered among the most prominent figures of the “Bergen Wave,” which, together with Kings of Convenience, drew international attention to the previously little-noticed Norwegian city. Röyksopp’s well-known debut album “Melody A.M”. stood out for its ability to weave together three decades of electronic music history, incorporating its most characteristic elements while giving the album a dreamy lightness. Over time, the duo has developed this foundation in new forms, gradually moving toward more dynamic, club-oriented electronic music — a sound that today forms the central axis of their creative identity.

This shift in direction is vividly marked by the 2025 reinterpretation of their single “What Else Is There?”. The new version, created in collaboration with producer Trentemøller, not only gives the track a more rhythmic sound but also reminds listeners of the most distinctive landmarks of Nordic electronic music scene. On the album “True Electric”, which includes this track, Röyksopp continues the creative course they set a few years ago, saying of the record: “The idea was to put an emphasis on the clubbier aspects of our music, as well as returning to our roots within the realms of electronic music.”

In Riga, Röyksopp is expected to fill the venue with melodic techno and progressive house, weaving in elements of tribal house and other subgenres. Combined with Crave Night — an event specially crafted for the Riga audience and enhanced with visual projections and immersive lighting — prepare to dive into a Nordic trance in Riga’s finest concert hall.
